Coat:
Thick and dense and weather-resistant. Can be black, yellow or
chocolate brown. A small white marking on the chest is permissible. |

Overview:
The beloved Labrador Retriever is playful,
loving to people and hardworking. The Lab can be counted on as a
true friend anytime, anyplace, and is highly respected for his
prowess at many jobs: as a guide dog for the disabled, a
search-and-rescue dog, and for narcotics detection. |
|
Character:
This breed is obedient, sociable,
affectionate, and loyal. They have a very keen sense of
smell. |
|
Temperament:
This dog gets along well with children,
other dogs, and any household pets. |
|
Care:
Brush the coat once a week, twice weekly if the dog is shedding. |
|
Training:
The Labrador Retriever learns very quickly
and loves to work for its handler. |
|
Activity:
Although they will adapt to the exercise
habits of your family, Labrador Retrievers need plenty of exercise.
They need to be taken on long walks, and especially love to take
part in field sports. |
